33 bed Step Down Unit with Cardiovascular specialty. Ratio 1:4. Hours 6a-1830p. Will care for a variety of patients including CP rule out, STEMI, NSTEMI, post CABG, post thoracotomy, post peripheral vascular surgery/procedure, respiratory failure with BIPAP or Airvo, dysrhythmias or blood pressures requiring IV intervention and monitoring, CHF, sepsis, etc… Post Cardiac Cath Lab patients are recovered on the unit and nursing is responsible for management of arterial sheaths. Pressors or IV infusions are not titrated on CVCU.
