Shift: Day 3×12-Hour (07:00 – 19:30)
Night 3×12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)

Description:

WINTER JOB
Can do 13 wks, or up to 1/24 end date.
Manager preference is to end 1/10, 1/17 or 1/24 to assist with holiday coverage. Will prioritize these candidates.
RTO policy: Typically can approve max of 1 of 3 major holidays off. 7 day max total RTO. No RTO within first 2wks of start.

15E James – Acute Leukemia and Hematology – 12 Hour D/N Rotating or Nights – CHEMO CERTIFICATION REQUIRED!!!

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

First Time travelers: NO
Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
Staffing Ratios: Goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
Weekends: Variable based on unit needs
Schedule: No set/blocked scheduling. Self-schedule requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules before finalizing.
Orientation: First week: Mon-Fri dayshift. Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.

Special Focus:
• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols
• Patient falls prevention

Certifications Required:
• BLS
• ACLS
•ONS Chemo Cert

Certifications Preferred:
• NIHSS

Skills Required:
• MS/Tele
• Telemetry
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry monitoring
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Feeding tube care and management
• IV therapy/Phlebotomy
• Blood Product Administration
• Central line blood draw
• Peripheral Line Care/Management
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs
