Registered Nurse/Nurse Navigator Oncology

Shift: Day 5×8-Hour (08:00 – 16:30)

Description:

The need is for full-time RN positions for nurse navigation, to work Monday-Friday, general hours are 0800-1630 but may vary dependent upon clinic assigned, in a 13-week contract. The candidates are required to have three years of oncology experience, BLS required and current VA RN licensure

• Serves as an advocate, interpreter, educator, and counselor for patients.
• Manages patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high quality and comprehensive healthcare and ancillary services.
• Serves as point of contact to assigned patients and caregivers.
• Acts as a support system for patients and caregivers throughout their treatment.
• Uses clinical/nursing knowledge to coordinate nursing care, medical care and ancillary services for assigned patients.
• Identifying new patients and ensuring they receive services starting on first visit.
• Ensuring the patient and family are involved in the creation of their plan of care.
• Communicating with patients to resolve questions or concerns based on the individual patient’s needs.
• Promoting holistic, non-judgmental care.
