Shift: Day 4×10-Hour (07:00 – 17:00)

Adult Cardiac Sonographer needed at this traveler friendly facility in Richmond, VA.

Large academic center which specializies in treatment of advanced cardiovascular disease. Heart transplant, structural heart, infiltrative diseases are typical. TAVR, LVAD, Impella, balloon pump are often imaged. Daily assignments could inlcude a combination of inpatients and outpatients daily, bedside echo, Stress Echo, TEE or OR. Should be competent in all forms of complex echo pathology-HOCM, assessment of regional wall motion abnormaltiies, aortic stenosis and other valvular deftects. Evalution of shunts and saline contrast administration. Sonographer driven contrast administration protocols, agents used are Lumify and Definity.

4 years of recent experience required. Level 1 trauma required.
Left-handed scanning preferred
Transplant hospital exp preferred
Academic experience required
Biweekly orientation. We typically book 4-5 weeks out to allow for compliance.
Productivity requirements are 6-8 studies in a 8 hour day or 8-9 studies in a 10 hour day.

Shifts are 8 or 10 hours, depending upon need/and assignments. We also have 1 week of call in the 13 weeks. Two weekends of call in 13 weeks. Assignments are at the Main Campus (inpatient/outpatients) and at our Stony Point location (clinic/ outpatients), which is located in the same pavilion as the main medical center.

10 hour shifts start at 0600 or 0700; 8 hour shifts start at 0700, 0800, and 0830, may vary upon assignment, needs of the department or location– Main Campus or outlying Cardiology clinic.

Productivity requirements are 6-8 studies in a 8 hour day or 8-9 studies in a 10 hour day.

Certification required, will accept either CCI or RDCS- Adult
