Shift: Night 3×10-Hour (20:00 – 08:30)
Night 4×8-Hour (19:00 – 07:00)

Description:

****WEEKEND BLOCK: 8pm-830am on Friday, then 9pm-8am on Saturday and Sunday**** This would be 32 hours.

RTO after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a Cancel and DNR

REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 Year; 1 year acute health care preferred
Traveler Experience: Not required

Skills: Experience with neonates- geriatrics. Inpatient/Acute Care setting. Intake, Interpretation, Data Entry, Labeling, Order Entry, Packaging, Prevent/Report Medication Errors
Certs: NC CPhT (Pharmacy Technician candidate can be registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire date)

PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Experience in a Children’s Hospital, Compounding Pharmacy, Long Term Acute Care, and/ or Psychiatric Inpatient work setting. Drug Interactions, Pharmacy Inventory Management, Aseptic Technique, Compound a Sterile and Non-Sterile Product, Prepare IV Mixtures, Prepare TPN Order, Prepare Chemo, Sterilize a Laminar or Horizontal Flow Hood, IV, Compounding

JOB DETAILS: 800 bed hospital serving all age groups. Requirements of position include running Pharmogistics Carousel, triage, delivery to Pyxis machines, and other duties as required by inpatient pharmacy.
Dispensing Volume: 12,000 orders per day
Shift: Fri-Sun; 8pm-830am on Friday, then 9pm-8am on Saturday and Sunday
RTO: 7 days MAX
Call Requirement: Yes required.
Float Requirement: Not required
Weekend Requirement: Every weekend

**Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, Carousel System, User Access Required. Unit will train initially in carousel or pyxis. Preferred: Baxa TPN pumps, EPIC Dispense Prep, Abacus TPN order entry system

Epic, Accudose, Baxter, McKesson, Emergency Med Systems, Inventory Reports, and Override Reports preferred.

SCHEDULING TYPE: Predetermined in offer

UNIT ORIENTATION: 16 hours

SCRUBS: Olive or pewter grey

Position will require training on how to run a Pharmagistic’s carousel and triage on nights and delivery of medications to the floor and delivery to pyxis machines. Unit will adapt training to level of experience.
