We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced full-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to play a leadership role in a brand new, 10-bed LDRP Level-I Nursery, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont which is scheduled to open late 2024.

Job Description:

  • This Level 1 unit will have an anticipated 600 deliveries a year
  • An average daily census of about 5 newborns
  • 24-hour shifts:  rounding on newborns in-house during the day and then take call from home
  • NNPs will be responsible for daily rounds on newborns, attending deliveries when requested and will take call from home
  • Practitioners would also stabilize, manage and facilitate transport of newborns to adjacent NICUs in Charlotte or Gastonia for newborns needing higher level care
    – The Belmont team will consist of 4 NNPs with the sister LEVEL III NICU staffed by 2 Neonatologists and 5-6 NNPs who provide care at CaroMont Regional Medical Center- Gastonia, which is only 7 miles away
    – Opportunities to do supplemental PRN shifts at the level III NICU in Gastonia may be possible; but would not be required, as this position is for the Level 1 nursery.
  • Belmont Medical Center, is located just 15 miles from uptown Charlotte and 8 miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which has non-stop flights to over 180 destinations

  • Candidates must be NNP Board Certified (cannot accept FNP, PNP, or any other NP certifications)
  • Not accepting new graduate candidates – CURRENT 2+ years of employment experience as NNP (not including RN experience) is required
  • Not accepting Locums candidates
