JOB DESCRIPTION:
Objectives

  • Ensure the continuous and efficient management of all supply chain functions (receiving, distribution, inventory management, and staff oversight).
  • Implement leading-practice policies, processes, and procedures in collaboration with internal Supply Chain leadership.
  • Serve as a key leader for the Workday ERP system transition, offering operational insights and ensuring alignment with real-world needs.
  • Develop and refine documentation—such as job aids and workflow processes—to support system adoption and reduce disruptions.
  • Support the recruitment and training of a permanent Director of Supply Chain Operations, facilitating knowledge transfer and leadership continuity.

Key activities and deliverables
Day-to-Day Operational Management

  • Oversee receiving, distribution, and inventory activities to maintain high standards of efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain robust oversight of personnel, ensuring adequate staffing, skill development, and performance accountability.

Leading Practice Implementation

  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures, recommending and implementing enhanced processes aligned with leading practices.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain leadership to define and measure performance metrics against industry benchmarks.

Workday ERP, UAT and Deployment Support

  • Serve as a core operational stakeholder in UAT sessions, identifying gaps between system functionality and supply chain needs.
  • Document and communicate enhancement requests to implementation consultants, promoting timely and relevant system updates.
  • Oversee system roll-out for supply chain personnel, ensuring that data migration, configuration, and system validation processes remain consistent with clinical and operational requirements.

Comprehensive Job Aids and Workflow Documentation
Develop user-friendly guides, checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline adoption of the new ERP platform.
Train supply chain staff on newly developed workflows, ensuring comprehension and sustained implementation.

Recruitment and Transition Support

  • Collaborate with human resources and executive leadership to define the profile and qualifications for the permanent Supply Chain Operations Director.
  • Provide interim leadership and ensure effective knowledge transfer once the permanent hire is in place, including detailed process documentation and formal onboarding plans.

Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Foster open communication with finance, clinical teams, and other departments to maintain alignment on shared organizational objectives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and resolve discrepancies in supply chain practices, inventory data accuracy, or system usage.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits to confirm that new procedures and tools are delivering the expected outcomes.
  • Recommend additional process enhancements to sustain momentum and operational excellence.
