Description:

Experience with ID badge systems desired: C-Cure 9000, Lenel, Brivo, AMAG, Genetec.

Badging Clerk / Security System Technician
• Participation and collaboration with HR for New Employee and Physician onboarding events to issue ID badges to all new hires.
• Same-day reprints of lost, stolen, damaged ID badges.
• Badge record setup and provisioning for new hires, transfers, terminations.
• Manual data enter for all records not integrated with WorkDay: physicians, vendors, nursing schools, construction crews, volunteers, community members.
• Photography of all workforce members unable to submit portraits in advance.
• Daily uploads to WorkDay of employee badge information for integration with Kronos.
• Process badge expiration changes for vendors, contractors and other non-employee groups.
• Setup and printing of barcodes for integration with Point of Care systems for glucose testing.
• Troubleshoot ID badges not working with downstream systems: Kronos, Imprivata, Follow-me-printing, Pneumatic Tubes, ScrubEx, Elevators and other third party systems.
• Large volume printing of badges for nursing school cohorts.
• Provide badge transaction reports to HR and other departments per policy & procedure.
• Add, change & remove access for workforce member badges during dept moves and special projects.
• Special project related to badge production for vendors, contractors, volunteers.

• Has the general responsibility for the protection of personnel and property of assigned affiliate. Is responsible for the design of ID cards issued by Security. Provides medical center photo identification cards to authorized employees, volunteers, members of the medical staff, tenants and their employees, authorized contractors and vendors providing regular services to the hospital and other persons when authorized by Administration and ensures all ID cards are appropriately programmed when authorized and appropriately for Kronos and facility door access. Provides other support functions during emergencies and as determined by the Manager.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
• Possesses excellent spoken and written English skills necessary to communicate clearly with others.
• Able to utilize assorted computer programs and devices necessary for sharing of information between departments.
• Greets others in a courteous manner in person and by telephone.
• Participates in all New Hire Orientation & onboarding.

CRITICAL & ANALYTICAL THINKING:
• Verifies requests for new and replacement ID cards with department heads to avoid fraud and unauthorized access.
• Upon notification of employee termination or disciplinary action, will terminate or suspend an employee’s ID card and access as deemed necessary.
• Identifies the requestor’s need for access and grants only that level of access is required for the badge holder’s position.
• Possesses a working knowledge of the Badging System and how to program and trouble shoot problems. As necessary can design new badges to fit special needs and events.

DOCUMENTATION & INVESTIGATIONS:
• Monitors ticket system for new badge requests, processes badge orders in a timely manner. Processes requests for new and replacement ID badges through ticket system.
• Sends a daily report to Human Resources/Pay Roll of new badges issued that require Kronos access.
• Provides a monthly report to the Security Manager on badge production.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
• Initiates contact with customers who need assistance rather than waiting to be asked.
• Promotes an attitude for providing superior customer service.
• Takes initiative on any issue of customer discontent or incident that should be addressed promptly.
• Knowledgeable of all hospital campuses so as to give directions and respond to calls.

MEDICAL CENTER POLICIES & PROCEDURES:
• Adheres to all Medical Center policies and procedures.
• Practices safe work habits and engages in good business standard and conduct.
• Arrives early enough to prepare for each shift and is in proper uniform at the start of shift.
• Takes time to review recent events and reports.

SUPPORT FUNCTIONS:
• Is able to access to the Lawson Requisition Center to order supplies necessary to maintain badge production.
•May perform other duties as necessary to give assistance to staff and/or resolve any unforeseeable exigent condition that may not be covered by current policies and procedures.

TRAINING & EDUCATION:
• Attends all department meetings.
• Completes all scheduled department and Health Stream training modules as scheduled; including MAB.
• Maintains basic skills necessary to perform all functions, seeks advanced training when possible.

EDUCATION:

HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 years of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Possesses basic computer knowledge necessary for using multiple systems and applications.

Has very good computer and typing skills, is proficient with Windows, Work and Excel software
