Non-Clinical – Environmental Services/EVS Aide

Shift: Day 5×8-Hour (12:30 – 21:00)

Description:

You are applying for a position in a commonly impacted area for hurricanes, the 2025 hurricane season will run from June 1 – Nov 30 but storms have been known to occur outside of that window. Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to a “Emergency Team” where there will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the storm passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each storm as impacts vary.
By signing your travel contract to take a position with Ochsner Health, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if a storm were to occur. You should not apply during this hurricane window if you are not comfortable with the above.

Job Details: This job cleans and services areas such as guest, patient, public, clinical and administrative areas. Responsible for maintaining a clean and aseptic environment.

Schedule: Will include Rotating Weekends

Work Experience Required – Experience operating Environmental Service equipment. Equipment includes, Automatic Scrubber, Battery Burnisher, Electrical Burnisher, All Purpose Matador, and Carpet Extractor

Preferred- Health care or hotel experience

Job Duties
Maintains VCT Floors and carpet floors according to Environmental Services standards.
Maintains Environmental Services closets and equipment in a clean aseptic and orderly manner.
Exhibits effective judgment and decision making.
The skills to assist with cleaning projects and to work as a team.
Assumes responsibility for attendance/punctuality and personal appearance.
