Essential Functions
- Creating and issuing purchase orders for the organization correctly and timely.
- Acts as the primary procurement agent for the organization.
- Buyer is an expert user of the organization's MMIS system
- Assists with invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of the Materials Management storeroom at all times.
- Assists with delivers supplies to requesting departments in a timely manner.
- Assists with or serves as backup to the job functions of the Materials Management Technician
- Monitor existing purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Identifies and communicates with manager when supplies are backordered to ensure internal customer expectations are met.
- Develop and manage effective relationships with suppliers.
- Develop and manage effective relationships with hospital departments.
- Works with Materials Management staff, Requisitioners, AP, and Department Heads to ensure smooth operations, transactions, consistent flow of supply, and effective troubleshooting of problems.
- Assists with cost reduction opportunities for the organization.
- Assists with supply/equipment inventory.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
