Description:

The Patient Services Representative II provides critical administrative and front-office support within the Interventional Radiology department at 2900 Whipple Ave. This position ensures timely and accurate patient scheduling, coordination, and documentation to maintain seamless care delivery in a high-volume specialty setting.

The PSR II plays a key role in supporting growing patient volumes related to new procedures such as RFA thyroid ablations. As the only provider currently performing these procedures within Sutter Health, the department requires additional administrative support to maintain service efficiency, accuracy, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls and manage appointment scheduling for Interventional Radiology services.

Process and track patient referrals, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination with providers.

Support patient check-in and check-out activities, maintaining accurate demographic and insurance information.

Upload, scan, and process outside reports and documents into the electronic medical record.

Assist with prior authorizations, pre-procedure coordination, and documentation workflows.

Collaborate closely with MAs, DCs, and providers to ensure timely communication and continuity of care.

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.

Contribute to process improvement efforts to increase departmental efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare administrative or front desk role required.

Experience in scheduling, referrals, and patient coordination within a clinic or hospital setting strongly preferred.

Proficiency in electronic medical records systems (Epic experience a plus).

Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role supporting a patient care environment within the Whipple Ave Interventional Radiology department. The position operates in a collaborative team setting alongside providers, MAs, and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient throughput and timely documentation processing
