Performs quality examinations and completes sonographer’s worksheets for review by the interpreting physician.
Coordinates the performance of Ultrasound examination according to the physician order/protocol.
Assesses the patient prior to the performance of the study to ensure safety and cooperation.
Assesses the patient’s clinical history and previous examinations and uses critical thinking skills to correlate and maximize the diagnostic value of the study
Demonstrates proficiency with multiple computerized systems.
Demonstrates proficiency when working with picture archiving and communicating systems (PACS) to transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images.
Educates patient, answers any/all concerns/questions, prior to executing the study.
Understands, performs, and employs appropriate sterile technique and infection control measures.
