The School-Based Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating schoolchildren (ages 3-21) that demonstrate physical, mental and/or cognitive deficits that impede their ability to be successful in the classroom. Evaluation and treatment is based on functional outcomes within the academic setting.
- The School-Based Occupational Therapist is accountable to the School Therapy Program Coordinator and Rehabilitation Services Manager.
- This is a
hospital-based combination Inpatient & Outpatient position. - Works closely with medical staff, clinical staff, and support staff of Weeks Medical Center and more specifically the special education instructors/paraprofessionals, teachers, other professional staff and administrators of the SAUs in which therapy is provided.
