Category Manager

This position will be a client facing position, which will be working directly client and will support National Claims Shared Services area.

Responsible for all sourcing/procurement activities for assigned categories within the National Health Plan (EX: Claims, School of Medicine, National Communications, Sales and Account Management, Sales Operations, Broker Services, etc.). Develops and implements a category management strategy for assigned categories. Identify, develop and manage supplier relationships. Effectively negotiate contracts and long-term procurement agreements. Develop and propose metrics to analyze supplier total cost.

• Manage Med-Surg contracts and ensure timely renewal of agreements to prevent lapses in continuity or compliance.
• Negotiate contracts, including Med-Surg, capital equipment, and service agreements, in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Establish and maintain professional business relationships with suppliers, documenting performance, and monitoring compliance with contractual terms.
• Submit agreements for data system entry, ensuring accurate implementation and compliance with established contracting requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop objectives and implement sourcing strategies that support organizational goals.
• Analyze costs and assess financial implications of contracting activities to support informed decision-making.
• Compile, monitor, and communicate the pipeline of contracting opportunities, and track the performance of opportunities implemented by supply chain and operational departments.
